HISTORY: Mohammed and Islam

This week we will be discussing Mohammed and the creation of Islam.

Monday, no class!!! Parent/Teacher Conference Day!

On Tuesday, we will complete our worksheet "Mohammed and Islam" that goes along with our reading card. The angel Gabriel, who is seen as the messenger of God in our Bibles, is mentioned in this lesson. We'll see what Gabriel had to say to Mohammed and also learn what the 5 pillars of Islam are.

Wednesday, we will have a reading and discussion about the story of Mohammed and how he became a prophet of God.

Thursday, we will do comparison's between Islam and Christianity and complete the corresponding worksheet. We'll be looking up information from our readings, what is required of an devout Islamic follower and what the Bible says a Christian is expected to do.

Friday, the worksheet ...
"Middle Ages, Reformation and Renaissance: Project 3 - The Rise of Islam and the Birth of Eupoe"
On the 3 paragraphs of page one, you will read each paragraph, highlighting key words that indicate what each paragraph is talking about so you can then assign each paragraph a title based on its subject.

Your vocabulary words to define on page 2, for this reading are:
