September 12-16: Science and Literature/L.A.

Science

Monday: We will learn about the oxygen cycle and oxygen's place in the Earth's atmosphere through readings and a short video. You will also be turning in your sketches of the Earth and atmosphere's layers that you completed last week.

Friday: We will do an experiment that extracts the colors present in leaves due to photosynthesis.

Literature/L.A.

Monday: We will begin working on our new spelling list, as well as our chapters 9-13 packet for Charlie and the Chocolate factory (due Friday).

Tuesday: We will continue our synonym/antonym discussion from last week and review the 5 parts of a complete sentence.

Wednesday: We will check the questions for CCF chapters 9-11 and discuss the main characters.

Thursday: We will learn two new jingles and review the four different types of sentences. At the end of class we'll take an open-book test over the sentence types (you will get to use your reference sheets).

Friday: We will check the questions for CCF chapters 12-13 and then turn in the completed packet.
