BIBLE: The Fall of Israel

King Nebuchadnezzer invades the land of Israel
In the book of Deutoronomy, it talks about the covenant made between God and his people. God had delivered his people out of Egypt and led them through the wilderness for 40 years. Moses lets the people know there will be a covenant (an agreement) between them and the Lord. We will be discussing this covenant in class to better understand why Jeremiah's message from God to the people seemed so harsh and what led him to later write the book of Lamentations.

From Wikipedia :
According to Jeremiah, the LORD declared that the covenant was broken and that God would bring upon Israel and Judah the curses of the covenant. Jeremiah’s job was to explain the reason for the impending disaster (destruction by the Babylonian army and captivity).
Monday, we will read  Deuteronomy 29, and discuss the agreement God made with his people and then discuss Jeremiah's message to them. We will then review for our Test on Tuesday.
